IRB Driver Winter course 2024.

Expressions of interest for The upcoming IRB driver course are now open.

Some of the benefits of becoming an IRB driver:

When qualified, you will be able to help out on patrols, do water safety for events held at Sorrento or other beaches around Australia

if you’re a parent it’s a great way to get up close and personal and see your kids in action.

Or see our beautiful coastline from a different angle.

Qualified trainers will be on hand to help guide you through your learning experience.

Please see below for the enrolment requirements.

Must:

• Be 16yrs of age at commencement of training
• Hold and be currently proficient in: Bronze Medallion and IRB crew
• Be 17 years of age at time of assessment
• Complete the Entry requirements confirmation form verifying a minimum of 8 operational hours as a qualified crew person.
• Complete the online module which is in the members portal under: elearning/ Training library/ SLS Power craft.
• Have Recreational skippers ticket prior to assessment

If you don’t hold an RST additional training will need to be undertaken. Please advise when signing up if you require to undertake these sessions.

We can run you through this or you can go external. Assessment is by a qualified assessor.

If you go through us, there will be one dry session and two wet sessions, (If required) then the assessment. Times and dates to be confirmed.

1st August Dry session 6.00pm – 9.00pm Sorrento SLSC training room

4th August Wet session 7.00am – 11.00am Sorrento

11th August Wet session 7.00am – 11.00am Sorrento

18th August Wet session 7.00am – 11.00am Sorrento or Trigg

25th August Wet session 7.00am – 11.00am Sorrento or Trigg

31st August Wet session 7.00am – 11.00am Sorrento or Trigg

8th August Assessment if deemed ready by trainers TBC
